Review of Samsung Big Screen TVs.
This request for a review came from Vanessa in Ohio who wanted me to review
Samsung big screen TVs
, especially their revolutionary new DLP technology in their projection models. I hadn't yet had a chance to see any of Samsung's new models with DLP technology but I was planning on reviewing them in the near future. Her reqeust prompted me to start researching the new Samsung big screen TVs and get my review posted ASAP!
Samsung's new DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology attempts to improve the picture quality of rear projection sets, which historically have been inferior to direct view (cathode tube) televisions. I can say Samsung has done a wonderful job.
The past problem with the image of a projection set was its variable brightness depending on your viewing angle to the unit. This caused a drastic decrease in video quality if you were not in the optimal viewing position, which was directly in front of the unit.

Also, rear projection televisions displayed their image on a solid translucent viewing screen which was convluted or rippled to increase visual depth and clarity. What it also accomplished however was to overly granulate or pixelate the image. It actually looked as though the image was being projected onto a screen. That is not good. When you go to a movie theater, you want to notice the movie image on the screen, not the screen itself.
Before I outline Samsung's DLP technology in their Samsung big screen TVs I'll give you my pick for their best big screen TV. Accordingly, it will be one of their rear projection models with DLP technology. My Samsung pick is the Samsung HLN5065W 50-Inch DLP HDTV Monitor . As stated it is high definition TV ready. It is narrow. It is bright. It is big. This is cutting edge and spectacular. Definitely one of the best Samsung big screen TVs on the block.
If you are looking for something smaller, they also manufacture a smaller 43 inch version. Click here to see the Samsung HLN4365W 43-Inch DLP HDTV Monitor .
Here is some info on Samsung's DLP technology, from Samsung itself.

HDTV with DLPT technology in Samsung big screen TVs.
Digital Light Processing (DLPT ) technology is found in leading digital cinemas the world over. The heart of DLPT technology is a micro-display panel no larger than a postage stamp, which integrates 921,600 microscopic mirrors to deliver eye-popping, high definition detail, color and clarity. Samsung applies the magic of DLPT technology to your home theater via its patented, compact optical engine that replaces the large, heavy picture tubes found in direct-view sets.
Best of all, Samsung DLPT Projection TVs are lighter, more affordable and use far less power than plasma TVs. Now you can enjoy the spine-tingling thrills of digital television in a sleek, table-top design that's significantly smaller, lighter and brighter than a conventional projection TV. Samsung's advanced convergence technologies also make DLPT projection TVs compatible with your HDTV tuner, PC, DVD, game console, VCR, camcorder, digital camera, and much more.

DigitAllclarity
DLPT Projection TV delivers the perfect picture. DLPT technology is the only display solution that enables projection systems to create a purely digital connection between a digital video or graphic source and the screen in front of you. Lifelike picture The surface of the DLPT panel is covered with almost a million micro-mirrors (1280 x 720), that act as pixels. This incredibly high pixel count creates a striking, digital image with seamless resolution, amazing detail and brilliant, lifelike colors. And because the pixels are less than one micron apart, you won't notice the "screen door" effect apparent with other TVs.
Ultra-smooth action Samsung's DLPT micro-mirrors can switch on and off over 5,000 times a second - that's up to ten times faster than other micro-displays. This allows DLPT Samsung big screen TVs to smoothly and accurately display fast-switching content like HDTV and DVD. Samsung big screen TVs, brighter and clearer At 400 cd/m2, DLPT outshine other micro-display technologies for a bright, clear picture, with incredible contrast and color accuracy. Its unique optical engine preserves the intensity of the original image with vibrant colors and rich, deep blacks.
Its high, 1000:1 contrast ratio makes for ideal color separation and crisp, detailed images. That's why Samsung DLPT Projection TV is perfect for any source material that demands minute detail, such as HDTV, computer images and DVDs.
Consistent Samsung big screen TVs image.
The DLPT Projection TV is much more durable than competing technologies because the display doesn't physically age or deteriorate. Its Ultra-High-Pressure lamp delivers consistent light output and picture quality throughout its long lifespan.
