| Editorial Reviews: | | | | | The Universal 60 Inch Flat Panel Video Base in Silver Suede Finish from Bush Furniture features back openings for easy cord access and wire management, two fixed tempered glass shelves create three levels of storage, 1 1/2" thick shaped top and bottom shelves, accommodates most 36 conventional TVs up to 240 lbs. and 60" flat panel TVs up to 154 lbs., and is tested for tip stability with your safety in mind. Some assembly required. | | | | With its clean oval shape, Bush Furniture's Universal TV/VCR video base provides a sleek modern display for most 36-inch conventional TVs (up to 240 pounds) and most 60-inch flat-panel televisions (up to 154 pounds), plus three levels of peripherals. The top and bottom shelves, painted Silver Suede, are 1-1/2 inches thick for extra strength and sturdiness, while the two black tempered-glass shelves between lighten the overall look. Thick side posts hold the glass securely in deep horizontal slits for a floating effect. Keeping things tidy, the back spine is perforated so wires and cords snake inconspicuously away. The video base measures 50-1/2 inches wide by 27-1/2 inches deep by 20-1/2 inches high and has been tested for tip-free safety. Assembly is required, and instructions and a toll-free customer help line are included. Six-year warranty. --Kara Karll | |

| | This is a perfect stand for any large flat panel LCD or plasma TV. It took me maybe a half hour to 45 minutes to assemble it. Assembly is no problem at all. The included instructions are completely visual and easy to follow. All the hardware is very nicely and safely packaged and the only tool you need is the included Allen wrench. By the way, I noticed some confusion in one of the other customer reviews about the actual dimensions of the shelf. I don't know if Amazon has it in all of its different sizes, but I've seen the exact same shelf in several different sizes ranging all the way up to 58". Just pick the one that suits your needs. It's very strong, well-designed, sturdy, and elegant. The glass shelves are firm and attractive and support a lot of weight for your TV and home theatre components. 154 lbs for the top shelf and 50 lbs. for each of the lower two shelves (if memory serves). It has an attractive open design which not only looks great but is perfect for ventilating a high wattage receiver or other electronic components on the lower shelves. It even has plenty of room on the middle shelf for a large center channel speaker (like my big Infinity). And because of the open design it's easy to insert your components onto the shelves and feed all the wires, cords, cables, etc. to the back of the shelf. It even has some nice hollow metal vertical channels in the back for hiding all the cables if you like. I have a 52" Sony LCD TV sitting on mine, along with a large center channel speaker on the middle shelf, and a big receiver and a blu-ray player on the lower shelf. It's a very strong and sturdy, yet elegant piece of furniture. Really just plain perfect. I'm very happy with it!

| | Have to give this 5 stars, given its weight rating and the price compared to other stands out there. Assembled it is attractive, simple, sturdy, and the rear columns are great for collecting/hiding cabling (remove a few screws to open the panels, add cords, and replace panels -- without impacting any other element of the structure. Or simply pass them through without unscrewing the panels.) My only complaints, and again given the relative price I can't detract points for it, are some ill-advised part-number stickers (would have been nice if they stuck them on the underside of the glass panels, to eliminate the need to carefully de-stickum-ize a fragile surface) and a lengthy delivery period: Given that items such as this are often purchased in tandem with a new television or similar equipment, I was disappointed with the turn-around on this unit's delivery. Prior to, during, and even now after I've purchased this and it has been delivered, Amazon has stated it "usually ships within 3-5 business days". However this actually took 20 days total to get here, requiring a variety of makeshift setups for the things that were supposed to sit on it in the interim. Plan accordingly!

| | This TV base has a high quality build. The perimeter of the glass shelves are steel, the glass sits on dampers for a slight cushion which should prevent any vibration from a sound system. Wires and cables are hidden in the enclosed rear supports. Assembly was simple and no parts were missing! Like a previous review I too have a 61" Samsung TV, looks like they were made for each other. Originally I was going to buy the Samsung base but after reading the reviews, finding out that the glass shelves to not extend to the end of the base, I bought this one. Am really glad I spent the few extra dollars. I bought this at Best Buy for $299.00 which is considerably less than Amazons price as of the date of this review. Would recommend this product.
