| Does not work with many satelitte boxes | |
| | If you have a dish network satelitte box the chances are slim to none that this remote will work out of the box. The problem is that code 122 doesn't work and there is no working code for dish in the remote. You will have to make it 'learn' every key on your old remote. Not all that hard, but it took over 20 try's for it to learn the info button. Quite a pain, but what really made me give this product only 2 stars is their technical support (or lack there of). After having the same problem with 2 different R7 remotes and being told several times by their technical support that it was a problem with my sat box, I borrowed an R6 (also made by Universal) and programed it with the 122 code. It worked perfectly. After confronting their technical support with this proof that their is something technically wrong with their programming their response was that I should buy an R6 instead. Dah, this is technical support?

| | good product, however it does not work with all TV's, I have a Sylvania and an Emerson, both digital tv's and this remote will not work with either one of them.

| | Owned this remote for over a month now. Easy to program and use. Works with all my componets: Panasonic 42in plasma, Oppo up-converting dvd player, Pioneer A/V Recvr., Sony PS3, Older Carver 5 disc cd player, and DIRECTV w/TIVO Recvr. Can't go wrong with this at $25.00. Out performs other remotes costing 5 to 10 times more.

| GREAT PRODUCT! GREAT SELLER! | |
| | This product exceeds my expectations and is a much better value than I could have hoped for. Does MORE than described, and does it better. Very well designed, and comes with an excellent DVD Tutorial (take the time to watch it; you'll be glad you did). As for the seller: FREE SHIPPING, GREAT PRICE, safely packaged, and the delivery did not take the 7 to 12 days that was promised. Instead, it arrived in TWO DAYS! Incredible, and much appreciated. Five stars all the way.

| So good, it deserves a name | |
| | Now, i'm no Universal Remote guru or anything, but this has got to be my fave remote i've ever used (and trust, i've used quite a few.) I purchased it to consolidate my 4 remotes (tv, cable, blu-ray, cd player) all of which are about a foot long. I looked at the remote in the store and wasn't sure if it was going to be able to handle all the buttons for the 4 devices but it was on clearance so what the hell. After about an hour of programming it let me say.. wow. Not only does it feel good to put away all the others but the remote itself feels good. Comfortable, proper button placement (its like you don't have to look, you already know where the button is, even though you only started playing with it 15 mins ago,) enough buttons to mimmick a digital cable remote, the feature to turn numerous devices on at the same time with one button, and to top it off, it has pretty red lights. I didn't even use the pre programmed codes I did it all by the Learning Mode it has.
The only thing that almost made me hate this remote just like the past 5 or so that i've purchased, is that when I was attempting to program it at first it only learned like half the buttons I programmed. But then I thought something must be messing it up so I turned off my comp that was right next to me and bam! it's been a dream ever since. So if it does the same to you, might be getting interference from a wireless connection (wifi.)
Overall, just go for it if you need one. No reason not to. $25 bucks, can't go wrong.
