| Editorial Reviews: | | | | | Tripp Lite's IEEE-1394b, or FireWire 800 cables, are the latest in FireWire technology, with data transfer speeds up to 800Mbps, twice the speed of original FireWire. The 9-pin to 6-pin FireWire 800 - FireWire cable (also known as a "bilingual" cable) will connect a 6-pin FireWire (1394a) device to a 9-pin FireWire 800 (1394b) port on a computer, or it will connect the 6-pin FireWire port on a computer to a 9-pin FireWire 800 device (FireWire 800 devices can achieve FireWire 800 speeds only when connected to a FireWire 800 port). These cables are 100% compatible with Apple FireWire, Sony iLink, and all other IEEE-1394b peripherals. | |

| | I used this cable to daisy-chain a couple of LaCie external hard drives to my Macbook.
Worked like a charm right out of the box, never had an issue with connectivity.

| Perfect for new Macbook Pro (2008) | |
| | I purchased this because the Macbook Pro (2008 Edition) does not have a firewire 400 port but it does have a FW800 port. Since I have a few devices, including my Presonus Firepod audio interface, that require a FW400 connection Tripp Lite's converter cable was perfect. I haven't had any problems with it and it's more flexible than the single-piece converters that I've seen.

| Works perfectly for Drobo! | |
| | I bought this for my Firewire Drobo in order to make it compatible with my computer's Firewire port. Data transfer speeds are as fast as ever, and the price is very reasonable!

| | I bought a firewire 800 card as I was told it was the state of the art and backware compatible. I wasn't told that it has a different plug. So I bought this cord. Works great and isn't as bulky as adding adapters.
