Review of Kenwood Home Theater Systems.

Kenwood Home Theater Systems . Oh, what a stroll down memory lane this review was. The first home audio equipment I owned was Kenwood. I had a Kenwood amplifier, cassette deck and speakers. When CD players hit the market, I bought a Kenwood CD model immediately.

Although it was my first brand, and often in history a persons first brand is their favorite for life, this is not the case with me. My Kenwood components were constant disappointments. My CD player could not play the first two tracks of every CD and everything else skipped constantly. My receiver cut out very frequently, often at very low power levels. My speakers were poor quality and eventually gave way to bigger and better units from another brand.

What I will say is that the Kenwood of today doesn't look to be quite the Kenwood that I knew of yesterday. Slight improvement appears obvious at first glance. They still seem to be mired in obscurity, with a loyal base of customers who prefer and support their products. However, they seem to have just followed the crowd for the past decade and a half. Is this good enough? What they certainly do offer are affordably priced units packed with the same features and options of much higher priced models available from comparable manufacturers. Make note though, as I've mentioned throughout this site, choosing equipment based on the lowest price may guarantee you some disappointment, along with your good deal.
